Multidisciplinary means combining many professional specializations.

Here are are some of mine.

Adult Instruction

I have been an instructor with Paratus Institute for more than 10 years. I both run first aid courses and play a major role in developing course materials.
Additionally, I worked a year at tech startup Creator, during which I played a key role in the formalizing of their employee development program as they looked to grow their company.

Youth Education

I have been involved in Boy Scouts most of my life and still attend a yearly summer camp as a mentor and educator. Through formal classes and guided experiences, I teach both general life skills such as leadership and time management; and specific outdoors skills such as swimming, canoeing, life saving, knots and lashings, and more.
When I was fresh out of college, I also worked for a year as a general academic tutor and for a year with an after school program teaching robotics to kids, middle school and younger.

Strategic Thinking

Design strategy, design thinking, brand strategy, account planning. Whatever the name you give it, as a graduate of the Miami Ad School account planning bootcamp, and a voracious consumer of additional books and documentaries, I can use both quantitative and qualitative research to identify user needs, develop actionable insights, and deliver effective and informative solutions.

Presentations

Proficient with both Powerpoint and Keynote, I know how to make visually interesting materials to supplement any spoken material.
I have even taught a course for administrators at Stanford University on how to step up the quality of their presentations.

Graphic Design

I know my way around Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator. I’ve made flyers, designed logos, and built out instructional materials in the Adobe creative suite, including the top-down redesign of Paratus’ flagship course in 2016. Video Production

With several years under my belt working in freelance video production, I’m an experienced editor, competent shooter, and know my way around post-production tasks from basic audio mixing to color grading. I’m most proficient in the Apple workflow (Final Cut Pro et. al) but have some limited exposure to Adobe Premiere/After Effects and Sony Vegas.

Web Design

I understand basic HTML and CSS, which have mostly been used to bend WordPress to my will for various projects. This website and my review site, as well as a site I built for a local scouting group pro bono, serve as examples of what that can look like.
